The Ceado Hoop is an innovative manual coffee brewer designed for simplicity and high-quality extraction. Introduced by the Italian company Ceado, known for its professional coffee equipment, the Hoop offers a user-friendly approach to brewing filter coffee. We've tried and tested this new brewer, and are using it to make many of our pour over coffees at Cellar Door. We're impressed by its ease of use and repeatability in making a clean, delicious brew time after time.

The hands-off approach to the Hoop allows users to achieve a high-quality brew without intricate pouring techniques, and is a great brewer for professionals and beginners alike.

The Hoop Brewer comes with a 100-pack of paper filters.

More Information

The Hoop consists of three main components:

  1. Outer Loop: This outer ring holds the water during extraction.
  2. Flow Tower: The central cylinder where ground coffee is placed. It features holes at the bottom, allowing water to flow evenly through the coffee grounds.
  3. Paper Filter: Placed between the Outer Loop and the Flow Tower to filter the brewed coffee.

During brewing, water is poured into the Outer Loop. It then seeps through the holes in the Flow Tower, ensuring a uniform lateral infusion through the coffee grounds. This design prevents bypass, ensuring all water interacts with the coffee for consistent extraction.

Instructions and Recipe

The Hoop is designed for both beginners and experienced coffee enthusiasts. Its straightforward assembly and brewing process require minimal skill:

  1. Insert the paper filter into the Outer Loop.
  2. Secure the Flow Tower onto the Outer Loop.
  3. Add ground coffee into the Flow Tower and place on a carafe/mug.
  4. Pour hot water into the Outer Loop and let the Hoop manage the extraction

We use a ratio of 20g coffee to 300g water, pour slowly for the first 20 seconds and finish pouring within a minute, achieving a 4-4:30 minute total brew time.
