A new era for Embassy Blend - Coffee Embassy

A new era for Embassy Blend

Gemma Dutton

This update has been a long time in the making, and we’re stoked to finally be sharing it with you. We’re entering a new era for our Embassy blend, with a more intentional approach that reflects our values.

The latest iteration brings together two exceptional, fully traceable coffees: A washed Caturra from Jairo Arcila’s Santa Monica farm in Colombia, and a natural Catucai grown by a small group of farmers in the Serra Dos Ciganos community in Mogiana, Brazil, brought together by FAF Coffees.

This shift didn’t happen overnight. Our Director, David, had been following FAF Coffees for some time, drawn to their focus on sustainability, long-term relationships, and their approach to the future of coffee. After reaching out to FAF’s director, Felipe Croce, in early 2025, a series of conversations began, and the possibility of sourcing coffee directly from FAF soon followed.

Soon after, David had the opportunity to meet Jairo Arcila in person during a trip to Colombia, seeing firsthand the passion and expertise that Jairo and his team bring to their work. Building closer relationships with producers has long been a goal for Embassy, and this visit brought that intention into sharper focus as part of our ongoing journey towards better coffee.

FAF Coffees and Cofinet have been instrumental in enabling us to source fully traceable coffee from Brazil and Colombia. After nearly a year and a half from first contact to arrival, we’ve now received our first shipment of Brazil Bob-o-link. This is joined by the recent arrivals of the latest crop of Jairo’s Caturra. This is the fourth year we’ve worked with this coffee, and it’s now something we’re committed to long term. Good things take time, and we think this is well worth the wait!

Together, these two coffees form our new Embassy Blend: a modern espresso designed to shine both black and with milk. The result is a complex, fresh, and balanced cup, grounded in transparency and a more considered approach to sourcing.

This version of Embassy reflects a broader shift in how we’re sourcing coffee. It takes more time, more effort, and greater investment, but it allows us to build meaningful relationships, better understand producers’ needs, and support more sustainable practices across the supply chain. We hope you enjoy the new flavour profile you'll experience in the cup, and the meaning behind the coffees in it.
